World Cancer Day – 4th February

World Cancer Day takes place on 4th February. This is a truly global event, aiming to raise awareness and funds for the fight against cancer under the tagline “Not Beyond Us”.

People all over the world will take part in different activities and make donations, large or small, to the cause. The idea is to take a proactive and positive approach to cancer, and to highlight the advances that have been made in detection and in treatments for cancer.

In 2015, the main themes for World Cancer Day are:

  • Choosing healthy lives
  • Delivering early detection
  • Achieving treatment for all
  • Maximising quality of life

We’d love to hear from anyone who is taking part in a World Cancer event, no matter how small. Please add your story in the comments below, or send them to me to put online for you

You can learn more about the day here. There is lots of great content, including factsheets about cancer – detection, treatment, and how we can alter our lives to aid prevention. You can also see what events are happening all over the globe, and add yours.
