Getting Crafty

Grays Honours student Geraldine McGeechan will be running student and staff craft workshops at the end of April and beginning of May.

Geraldine is in her 4th year as a student at Grays School of Art, and her dissertation looks at how creativity and craft can enhance mental wellbeing. As part of this, Geraldine has an interest in working wtih students to provide information on the benefits of creativity, as well as holding creative workshops outwith Grays to promote the benefits of taking part in creative activity for emotional well being.

Geraldine contacted us with a view to engaging with the Fit for the Future group to organise these workshops. As a result, two workshops will take place over lunch time at the end of April and beginning of May, with separate sessions for staff and students. One will be weaving, the other mark making, and both aim to be relaxing and exciting ways to spend your lunch hour. Its got to beat sitting at your desk with a sandwich, right?!

There will also be an evening clay workshop, with a small charge (£5), which should be lots of fun!

Look out for promotional posters coming your way soon! We will keep you posted here first.
