11-17 May is Mental Health Awareness week.
Mental health has long been a taboo subject, but it is now being recognised as a physical illness just as real as other debilitating conditions.
Mental Health Awareness Week aims to raise awareness of these conditions, including how to improve mental wellbeing.
The focus of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is Mindfulness. As we’ve blogged about before, mindfulness is focusing on the present moment, rather than getting bogged down in the past or the future. It can be practised anywhere, any time (see our previous blog post).
