Dr Steve Smith and Ms Gil Barton have collaborated to create a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course, running in the early part of 2016, and facilitated by Caroline Comerford.
The course is open to all staff and runs each Friday from 15th January until 26th February 2016, 4.30-6.30pm.
The aim of this course is to decrease stress and improve attention and well-being. It is designed to help participants learn new ways of handling difficult physical sensations, emotions and thoughts and to explore a new and more satisfying relationship with their moment to moment experience, even when that experience is unwanted.
Pioneered in the U.S., this programme has been shown to improve both mental and physical health and is endorsed in the UK by NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence).
The course is available at a cost of £140, including all materials and downloads.
