Following the recent success of the smoking cessation sessions at RGU, we followed up with the two advisors from NHS Grampian who ran the sessions.
As a whole the sessions were a great success. Two people followed the journey through to the quitting stage, which is really exciting, well done to them! Other people managed to attend some of the workshops, and others who visited the promotional stalls were given advice and referrals to their GP for nicotine replacement therapy (NRT). We noted that some people found the sessions being run at their work very handy and this encouraged them to join and, in turn, to quit. Great news!
However, we recognise that not everyone has the opportunity to attend sessions run in the workplace. They may work part time, have other commitments when the sessions are being run, or simply not want to attend something which can be quite a private matter at their work. Because of this, NHS Grampian have kindly given us the details of the other Smoking Cessation Advisors that work within the Grampian Area.
All sessions are free and fully confidential. They have a person-centred focus, and can be fully tailored to the needs of the client. They can be face to face, or by phone if that is easier.
A full list can be found below. This information will also appear on a separate page so that it is easy to find again.
We agreed that we would run another series of sessions over the summer, when hopefully teaching will be quieter. If you have any suggestions, please do comment below or get in touch – even if you just want further information.
